Do you know what is common between all human races, rich and poor, successful and mediocre, it's 24 hours. No matter how smart or rich or strong you are, you can't have an extra hour because of your entitlements, so the way forward is to make use of what you have.
It's simple as that, make utilize what you have to get what you want, but you see in our modern era, if you aren't conscious of what you are doing, you can spend 10 hours endlessly scrolling on social media platforms. The lack of discipline in our society has led most of you to use hands mindlessly scrolling and wasting your time, those hands of yours are meant to be doing something meaningful, not scrolling or chatting.
Your time is the only gift you were given from birth to make something for yourself, knowing how to be efficient and productive comes down to achieving all you want with what you have.
6 Effective ways to get the best out of your time
#1 Identify what you want
knowing what you have to achieve can create a sense of urgency until you achieve what you want. Lack of productivity comes from not knowing what needs to get done, following a routine someone told you or you saw on the internet isn't the answer to being efficient or productive, because even though you follow the routine with time you will lose the discipline to follow through. Consistent discipline can only happen when you know what needs to be done and get it done regardless of how you feel.
#2 Set a time limit
One of the lessons I learned from a former U.S navy seal Jocko Willink is if you want to be extraordinarily productive and kill procrastination, you need to have a time limit on the task at hand. Identifying what needs to get done helps a lot, but if you are someone who procrastinates the best way to kill this habit is setting a time limit on when you will finish your work and also the punishment you will go through for not doing it.
#3 Know the steps to take
Your dreams can only be achieved by actions, the answer to creating your desired reality is doing. Identifying the task at hand is key, but to set a plan, you need to know what steps to take, and the small actions that need to be executed before you finally get what you want. So before making a plan, know the small actions to be taken.
#4 Removing distractions
Focus should be your friend and distraction should be your enemy. If you don't stay from your distraction, it will steal your attention away from what you need to do. If you arent conscious of your actions you will fall in the rabbit hole of mindless scrolling on social media. Some few tips to take on avoiding distraction:
Block social media notification
Stay away from your phone when necessary
You need to become more aware of where you spend your time to ensure full efficiency and productivity.
#5 Set a good environment
A conducive environment brings naturally brings focus which is necessary for efficiency, your time is limited, and when you know you have things to be done, you need to make sure that the condition environment promotes focus and zero chance for distractions.
#6 Discipline
Discipline doing the necessary work regardless of how you feel, also from my experience discipline is when your body obeys your spirit. You can't let your emotions judge the actions you have to take, discipline is a necessity to make sure you get the best out of your time.
